ABOUT

Bastar Rhythm was born not out of a plan — but out of passion. What began as weekend escapes turned into a full-fledged mission to explore, capture, and share the untold stories of Bastar. We’re not influencers — we’re witnesses. From dense forests to tribal festivals, we walk slowly and speak softly — so we don’t miss what matters.

Welcome to Bastar Rhythm. Here, you won’t just see Bastar. You’ll feel it. Step by step. Beat by beat. Rhythm by rhythm.

Bastar Rhythm is not just a journey across a map —
It’s a journey into the heart of something wild, warm, and wondrous.
A place where nature sings, culture speaks, and time slows down —
just enough for you to remember how it feels to truly belong.

So walk with us.
Not as tourists. Not as outsiders.
But as seekers of stories, listeners of the land, and lovers of the lost rhythm.

Here in Bastar, we celebrate Dussehra like nowhere else in the world.

It’s not about fireworks or effigies — it’s about faith, tradition, and the deep connection between our people and our gods.
For 75 days, our villages and forests come alive with rituals, processions, and powerful tribal ceremonies passed down for generations.
Our Dussehra is a journey — from the sacred forests to the royal court, from the heart of the people to the soul of the land.
It’s a celebration of our culture, our ancestors, and the divine energy that flows through Bastar.
This is not just a festival — it’s who we are.

Warm, wise, and welcoming — the people of Bastar carry traditions older than kingdoms and hearts bigger than rivers.

It’s not just a stay — it’s a feeling.
Sleep in cozy mud houses built by hand, not machines. Wake up to birds, not alarms. Walk barefoot on cool earthen floors, sip tea by the fire, and laugh with your host family like you’ve known them forever. Here, you’re not a guest — you’re one of them. This is home, the Bastar way.

Taste the untold flavors of the forest — from bamboo shoot curry and mahua laddoos to the fiery red ant chutney. Cook with locals, eat on sal leaves, and celebrate the art of slow, mindful eating.

As drums echo through the hills, join hands with Gaur and Madia dancers around a glowing bonfire. Learn the rhythms, wear traditional ornaments, and feel the beat of Bastar in your bones.

Not your usual Dussehra — this is 75 days of ancient rituals, tribal devotion, and deep-rooted celebration. See divine chariots, spiritual processions, and Bastar’s living mythology come alive.

Take home more than memories. Explore village markets where artisans shape metal, wood, and clay into stories — from intricate Dhokra figures to hand-forged iron wall art and bamboo marvels.

Trek through dense sal forests, discover glowing limestone caves, and bathe in the mist of majestic falls like Chitrakote and Tirathgarh — all tucked inside nature’s untouched canvas.

Feel centuries of devotion at places like Danteshwari Temple, one of India’s sacred Shakti Peeths. Let silence and divinity greet you at Narayanpal, where rivers and prayers flow together.

I happened to visit Bastar during Dussehra, and honestly, I thought it would be just another festive celebration. What I saw over the next few weeks was beyond anything I imagined. The rituals, the processions, the deep connection people had with their deities — it wasn’t for show. It was faith lived out in real time. I watched a procession that had been repeated for centuries. I stood beside people who had walked for miles just to be part of it. I wasn’t a tourist anymore. I was witnessing something sacred. And I cried — not because I understood it all, but because I didn’t need to. I just felt it.
